Most candles are made to smell like a fragrance counter, inspired by "dupes". Chasing to recreate whatever's trending this season. We do the opposite. Every Hazel Candle Co. scent starts outdoors: a redwood forest in summer, a hike after rain, or a fire pit at dusk. We're not chasing trends. We're capturing places.

Our candles aren't built around trends, they're built around a memory of being outside. If it doesn't smell like the real thing, we don't sell it.

For 10 years, every Hazel Candle Co. candle has been made by hand in Northern California by a small team of craftsmen, not a factory line. We use plant-based soy wax and essential oil-based fragrance, free of phthalates and synthetic shortcuts. Clean burning, safe for homes with kids and pets. Made with intention every step of the way.

About the Owner

Henry grew up chasing California's wild places, summers in the Sierra, mornings rock climbing, a trail that led him to spend his summers in Yosemite, summiting Half Dome eight times and counting. Living for the weekend escape, he set out to bottle that feeling: the grounding, nostalgic scents of the places he never wanted to leave.
